The gift of time is one of the most generous gestures a person can make. Our volunteers are selfless, giving people who help at fundraisers, awareness events, and at our office. By making the gift of your talent and time, we all win.

Join our volunteer team by contacting the Chapter at cny-volunteer@alz.org or by calling our office.

Advisory Board & Board Committees
The Chapter is advised by a volunteer board responsible for planning and supporting strategies and tactics. This group provides leadership to fulfill the mission by partnering with staff in building relationships with key stakeholders to drive Alzheimer’s Association initiatives.

Advocates
Speak out in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Participate in federal and state legislative efforts to support our mission. This may include calling or emailing legislative offices in support of legislation, or visiting state or Congressional offices to advocate on behalf of families living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Office Volunteers
Provide general office assistance at our East Syracuse office, including clerical work, stuffing, mailing or labeling envelopes for bulk mailing. Volunteers may operate office equipment when appropriate.

The Longest Day® Committee
Play a vital role in the success of our signature event that takes place year round. Opportunities include team recruitment, participant cultivation, and event promotion. This is a great opportunity for bowling teams, bridge leagues, running groups, and recreational groups.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s® Volunteers
Join the Volunteer Planning Committee to support walkers, recruit new participants, promote the event, and plan the logistics of event day. Event Day Volunteer opportunities are also available to assist with the operations of the day in a wide variety of roles. Email cny-walk@alz.org to sign up or connect with a Walk Manager for more information.

Group Opportunities
If your club, civic organization, team, or other group is looking to give back to the community, think about the Alzheimer’s Association. We have roles for groups of all sizes. Not only can you build camaraderie and collegiality among your group, but you can feel good about making Central New York a better place to live.
