- Potential medication list pitfalls, for individuals living with dementia, and how it relates to treating with deprescribing
- How to communicate deprescribing with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals
This session will explore the critical role of deprescribing in improving patient outcomes, particularly for individuals with dementia. Participants will learn to recognize the harms of polypharmacy, understand deprescribing as a proactive treatment option, and identify medication pitfalls that can compromise cognitive health. The session will also provide practical strategies for communicating deprescribing decisions with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

- Ways to support individuals with latestage dementia and their families at end-of-life
This program enhances professionals’ knowledge and provides practical strategies for supporting individuals with late-stage dementia. Areas of focus include understanding the progression of advanced dementia, recognizing when hospice or palliative care is appropriate, and learning hospice eligibility criteria, along with ways to support patients and families at end of life.

Person-Centered Dementia Care: A Habilitation Therapy Training Curriculum
Includes the Alzheimer’s Association’s New Dementia Care Practice Recommendations and the opportunity to purchase essentiALZ® certification for direct care staff.Our curriculum is a train-the-trainer model created to prepare attendees, already familiar with Alzheimer’s and dementia care, to train direct care staff in a wide range of residential and community-based care settings.
