    Our volunteers are passionate, inspired and want to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia in our community. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or can make a more significant time commitment, please consider becoming an Alzheimer's Association volunteer.

    Volunteer opportunities in Minnesota and North Dakota

    As an Alzheimer’s Association volunteer, you can make a meaningful impact for people and families impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia in your community. With support groups, education programs, awareness opportunities, advocacy initiatives, fundraising events and more, we have volunteer options for you at the Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter.

    Development Committee Member (Walk to End Alzheimer’s, The Longest Day & The Purple Gala)

    Committee members play a key role in the success of each event, from getting local companies involved to helping participants engage with our mission to planning the event experience. Come together with other local volunteers to rally your community. Use your ideas, connections and motivation to enhance the experience and grow the movement to end Alzheimer's.     Advocate

    As a volunteer advocate, you’ll make your voice heard, drive policymakers to address Alzheimer’s and other dementia, and improve the lives of everyone affected by Alzheimer’s. Share your personal experience with your elected officials, submit letters to the editor to your local newspaper about your story and/or develop a year-round relationship with members of Congress. Your level of commitment is completely flexible to fit your schedule, style and skills. No previous experience necessary.

    Community Educator

    Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who provide Alzheimer's Association education programs. Community Educator’s deliver presentations (in person or virtually) using prepared Alzheimer’s Association consumer education programs on a variety of care and support topics, collaborate with Association staff to expand programs and connect people with additional Association services.

    Support Group Facilitator

    Support Group Facilitators create a safe, open environment where caregivers or people living with dementia share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a combined effort to better cope with and manage the shared problems of dementia. Support Group Facilitators provide social and educational support, help group members provide support to one another, assure a positive experience for attendees and connect attendees with additional Association services.

    Office Volunteer

    Provide administrative assistance to personnel managing projects related to operations, development, programs, marketing and outreach.

    Special Event – Day of Volunteer

    Assist with event set-up, decorating the venue, registration, greeting participants and other special event related duties.

    Internship

    A variety of seasonal internship positions are available during regular business hours, from 10 - 20 hours per week.

    Group Volunteer Project

    Volunteer groups can assemble kits, create event participant appreciation cards, assist with informational phone calls and promote events in their community.

    Purple Gala

    The Purple Gala is a beautiful and entertaining evening – fine dining, live music, a moving program, and silent and live auctions – as we honor and celebrate the lives of those who have been impacted by dementia, while raising funds for dementia care, support, and research.
