    Frequently asked questions

    Is this a support group?

Young Champions is not an official Alzheimer's Association support group, but we do offer time during our bi-monthly meetings to talk through life events and support each other informally.

How much does it cost to be a Young Champion?

Being a Young Champion is completely free! We have fundraising events throughout the year that we would love for you to attend, but there is absolutely no financial commitment to be a Young Champion.

    What is the time commitment?

We appreciate that everyone has different availability, and we respect those individual commitments. At Young Champions, we don't set a fixed time commitment for volunteers. We understand that your schedule may vary. Your involvement, even if it's not a specific amount of time, contributes significantly to the growth of our mission.

Are there leadership opportunities within the Young Champions?

There may be! Please email Maria Lind Magagna at mclind@alz.org to find out if there are ways for you to get more involved in a leadership capacity.

Do you have age restrictions for Young Champions?

We like to say that we are open to anybody who considers themselves young at heart, but we find that most Young Champions are between the ages of 18 and 40.

Who can attend events or participate in activities?

The more the merrier! We love to meet new people and they are welcome to dip their toe in by joining a bi-monthly meeting or event. Check our events page.

How can I stay updated on upcoming events and group news?

We are active on FacebookLinkedIn and Instagram, and we encourage you to follow us there for updates and announcements. We also maintain an email list where we share event reminders, opportunities, and meeting minutes, as well as GroupMe for ongoing discussions and spontaneous meetups. If you would like be added to the email list and/or GroupMe, please email Maria Lind Magagna at mclind@alz.org.
