According to the Alzheimer’s Association 2018 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures, Alzheimer’s is having a devastating impact on America’s work force: 6 in 10 Alzheimer’s caregivers have been employed in the last year, with 57% of employed caregivers having to go in to work late, leave early, or take time off due to caregiving demands. Eighteen percent of caregivers went from full-time to part time or cut-back hours, with nine percent of caregivers giving up working entirely.

Businesses or organizations looking to have a major impact in supporting the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association are invited to consider a wide range of sponsorship levels and benefits, including inclusion on participant t-shirts, display tables at the event, to more exclusive opportunities such as “Finish Line” or “Promise Garden” sponsorships – limited to one per Walk.

Companies, organizations and individuals interested in registering for their local Walk can start a team at alz.org/walk.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s allows the Alzheimer’s Association to provide free care and support for local families, such as: a 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), more than 30 monthly caregiver support groups, community education programs, ongoing local support for caregivers with the Side by Side: Successfully Managing Dementia Care program, early-stage social engagement activities, clinical study matching, and more.
