Each year, the Alzheimer’s Association celebrates the day with the most light, the Summer Solstice, by asking people across the world to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through an activity of their choice.

What does that mean exactly?

It means you can choose anything you love and leverage it to raise money to help us fight Alzheimer’s and all dementias. Whether you want to host a backyard BBQ, organizing a cornhole tournament or partner with a local yoga studio for a giveback class — nothing is off the table.

The best part is that we make it easy for you to choose an activity and kickstart your fundraising. Once you register, we’ll send you a welcome kit with materials to make your event a success, an online toolkit to make fundraising simple and one-on-one coaching to help you reach your goal.

Those who register before December 21 will also receive a limited edition tumbler and The Longest Day t-shirt as our way to thank you for your support.

Last year, we had Tennesseans host concerts at music venues and bars, companies who hosted a Casual for a Cause day for employees — we even had an individual organize a giveback night with the Nashville Sounds in honor of her father, who loved baseball. We can’t wait to see the creative ways you choose to help us fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s in 2020!

For more information, check out our About TLD page or contact our Tennessee staff member, Rebecca Williams at rawilliams@alz.org. Then, register your fundraiser here!

Together, the strength of our light will outshine the darkness of Alzheimer's.
