    The Alzheimer's Association works to identify and fund a wide range of the most promising grant projects, from basic discovery science to studies addressing social and behavioral aspects of Alzheimer's and related dementias.

    The Alzheimer's Association International Research Grant Program offers a number of funding opportunities throughout the year. Please see the funding program guidelines for more information. Specific details about particular programs can be found below.

    Part the Cloud Translational (PTC) Research for Alzheimer’s Disease Program: Combination Therapies Program (PTC-CTP) The Alzheimer's Association is pleased to announce a dedicated Part the Cloud Translational Research Funding opportunity to advance combination clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD). This program will support combination strategies that bring together at least two drug approaches, with optional inclusion of additional drug and or behavioral intervention components, to accelerate innovative, biomarker-informed combination therapies into clinical testing.

    Part the Cloud Translational Research for Alzheimer’s Disease Program: Enable the Molecule for Artificial Intelligence-Discovered Programs (PTC-EM-AI) Funding Program This first-of-its-kind program is designed to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence(AI)-driven therapeutic discovery and the experimental work required to advance AI-generated hits into viable, translational lead candidates for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD).

    The 2026 Zenith Fellows Award Program (ZENITH)

    The objective of the 2026 Zenith Fellows Awards competition is to provide funding support for investigators who have:

    • Contributed significantly to today’s scientific progress including AD/ADRD.
    • Contributed significantly to neuroscience breakthroughs that have informed our broader understanding of AD/ADRD.
    • Are likely to make substantial contributions in the future with their proposed work.

    Alzheimer’s Association Clinician Scientist Fellowship for All (AACSFA) Program

    The Alzheimer's Association recognizes the need to support the training of clinician scientists in Alzheimer's and all other dementias. For the purpose of this program, a clinician scientist is defined as an individual already trained, licensed and practicing in a clinical field that includes patient contact (e.g., neurology, psychiatry, geriatrics, psychology) or patient-related diagnostic studies (e.g., neuropathology and radiology).

    The maximum allowable duration is three years (minimum two years). This grant is open to U.S. and international researchers.

    The Alzheimer’s Association and The Foundation of the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR) Funding Opportunity

    The Association and ASNR are partnering to offer this unique funding program to leverage their respective expertise, their communities, Imaging Research in Alzheimer’s and other Neurodegenerative diseases. The goal of this program is to support the development of new novel imaging tools, to advance imaging-based research and to provide funding for novel and innovative imaging data analysis as relates to Alzheimer’s and related dementia.

    The Alzheimer’s Association Research Grant For All (AARGA) program aims to fund early-career investigators who have been in the position of an Assistant Professor or the equivalent for no more than seven years.

    Alzheimer's Association Funding Program for Global Real-Word Data Programs (ALZ-RWD)

    Proposals must:

    • Support the infrastructure, data and/or impact of a RWD platform that has, or plans to have, international, national or significant regional reach.
    • Enhance alignment and collaboration between global platforms, including with ALZ-NET.
    • Have the potential to advance health equity.

    Alzheimer’s Association World Wide FINGERS Network Funding Program (ALZ WW-FNFP)

    Applicants must be a member of the World Wide FINGERS Network.

    Studies must be equivalent in planning to a Level 2 or Level 1, as described in Kivipelto et al. (2020) Alzheimer’s & Dementia.

    Center for Dementia Respite Innovation

    The Alzheimer’s Association Center for Dementia Respite Innovation (CDRI) funds new respite care innovation projects across the country. Over the course of five years, the CDRI will award up to $20 million in competitive grants to local respite care providers to improve and increase the delivery of person-centered dementia care, with a focus on innovation, collaboration, outcomes, accessibility, affordability and sustainability.
