Fundraising events
"The camaraderie you form with all of the walk teams and volunteers is so powerful, especially on walk day when all of our 'why I walk's come together as a singular goal to make a major impact in the fight to end Alzheimer’s. Anyone who has participated in a local walk knows how incredibly special this event is and I’m so grateful to be part of it!"
-Allison Acree, Walk to End Alzheimer's volunteer, Charleston

Advocacy
"I'm able to impact my community by knowing how to communicate with legislators on how to solve real world issues. I have the ability to influence policymakers to create or modify laws that matter most in the dementia and Alzheimer's community.... I most enjoy that I'm not alone in this fight to preserve the memories of humanity."-Kimaya Brown, volunteer advocate, Eutawville
By advocating on behalf of those living with Alzheimer's and dementia and their families, South Carolina Chapter advocates help pass critical bipartisan legislation in Congress, increase federal research funding and advance South Carolina policy priorities.
Our volunteer advocates share their stories with elected officials via meetings, events, petitions, phone calls, letters-to-the-editor and other calls-to-action. Learn how to join our advocacy team.
