Public health progress in Indiana
State, local, territorial and tribal health departments are key partners in implementing a robust public health response to dementia.
The Marion County Public Health Department (MCPHD) in Indiana is a BOLD program awardee. It successfully recruited 13 MCPHD partners and 40 community partners to the newly formed Marion County BOLD Coalition. The coalition focuses on Alzheimer’s and other dementia in Marion County. Coalition members were recruited into work groups based on expertise and interests. Both the full coalition and work groups met to discuss the assets, challenges, and opportunities in the dementia space in Marion County. The work groups refined strategies and actions based on the input received and finalized the MCPHD Strategic Plan 2025-2028 to position the Coalition to carry out implementation activities in a coordinated manner.
