This year the conference will be held virtually over two half days and will feature five keynote speakers and one panel. Topics range from the latest in Alzheimer's research, mental illness and dementia, how dementia impacts diverse communities, and caregiver safety. Continuing education credits will be offered.

The last few years have been challenging, but we are Continuing to Shine and would be honored if you would join us to advance your knowledge to positively impact individuals living with dementia and their families.

Continuing Education Credits

The 2022 Alzheimer’s Association Conference has been approved by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Department of Continuing Education for 6.0 CEHs and 0.6 CEUs.
Here are a few important items for you to know:

  • CEU/CEH certificate request link:
  • The cost of continuing education credits ($30.00) is not included in the registration fee for the conference.
  • Each participant must be individually registered to qualify.
  • Each participant must attend LIVE each day.
  • It is the individual's responsibility to report CEH/CEUs earned to their appropriate credential or licensing board. 
  • If you only need a certificate of attendance, this will be provided to all registrants after the conference. This certificate does not qualify for continuing education.

The CE credit request form will be an online form that we will send you to complete after the conference. Attendance in the live sessions will be recorded and submitted to UWSP Continuing Education by the Alzheimer's Association.

Family Caregiver Award | Karen Squiers
The Family Caregiver Award is presented to an3.jpg individual who embodies the courage to face the challenges of caregiving, the compassion to ensure the dignity for their loved one, and the wisdom to reach out for support.

Courage Award | Terry Bierer
The Courage Award recognizes an individual living with memory loss who is a role1.jpg model for others through exemplifying support, education, advocacy and facing challenges. 

Diane Baughn Legacy Award | Lynda Markut
This award is named in honor of Diane3.png Baughn, a long-time Alzheimer’s Association program staff member, who exhibited exceptional passion to educate, support and advocate for caregivers impacted by memory loss. Diane passed away in October 2017. Even though she is no longer with us, we continue to her passion to always do more at the Alzheimer's Association.

Impact Award | Kristen Felten
Awarded for being a long-time advocate and fierce champion of people with2.png dementia and family caregivers – working through policy, training, and grant development to realize her vision for dementia care in Wisconsin. 

Care and Support Volunteers of the Year
The Alzheimer’s Association was started by volunteers in the early 1980 . Volunteers have a tremendous impact in providing care and support to families and those living with dementia. In 2022 we are proud to recognize three Care and Support Volunteers for their outstanding achievements.
