Eric VanVlymen, MSW, is the Alzheimer's Association chief field operations officer overseeing operations across the country. A member of the executive team, VanVlymen manages the entire field network comprising staff in 77 chapters. In this role, he leads efforts to implement the Association's mission by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.VanVlymen has more than 25 years of experience with the Association. He began his career with the Association as a program director in the Miami Valley Chapter, progressing to chapter executive, regional vice president and most recently as the chief field operations officer for the West. His focus on mobilizing communities with our volunteers and staff is guided by our vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
VanVlymen received a master of social work degree from Southern Indiana University and a bachelor of social work degree from Taylor University.
